Emergency Travel Assist

Members have access to a worldwide network of travel assistance personnel whenever they travel. The Emergency Travel Assist services are available when the member is traveling more than 100 miles away from home and the trip duration is 90 consecutive days or less, and are faced with a sickness or accidental injury. Information Services are available 24 hours a day.

MEMBERS MUST CALL THE TRAVEL ASSIST NUMBER TO ACCESS THESE SERVICES. MEMBERS ARE NOT TO MAKE ANY ARRANGEMENTS ON THEIR OWN. MEMBERS WILL NOT BE REIMBURSED FOR ARRANGEMENTS THAT ARE NOT MADE BY THE EMERGENCY TRAVEL ASSISTANCE PROVIDER. All services must be pre-arranged by an Emergency Travel Assistance Provider.

Limitations and Exclusions:

1.        Suicide or attempted suicide

2.        Intentionally self-inflicted injuries

3.        War, invasion, acts of foreign enemies, hostilities between nations (whether declared or not), civil war

4.        Participation in any military maneuver or training exercise

5.        Mental or emotional disorders, unless hospitalized

6.        Being under the influence of drugs or intoxicants, unless otherwise prescribed by a Physician

7.        Commission or the attempt to commit a criminal act

8.        Participation as a professional in athletics

9.        Pregnancy and childbirth (except for complications of pregnancy)

10.     Travel undertaken for the specific purpose of securing medical treatment; bodily injury or sickness which can be treated locally and does not prevent the member from continuing his or her journey or from returning home.
